Civics
We study the rights and duties of citizenship in civics. Humans are social animals. We create relationships and societies. Societies become political organizations and create states.
Civics is a science that studies various aspects of our collective life. It also teaches political, social, economic, rights and duties. The real key to maintaining a moderate relationship between the individual and the state. Through this society, people become aware of their obligations and responsibilities. A beautiful and healthy society can be built.
Here are some political scientists’ statements about civics. For example, F.J. Gould says that civics is the study of how people can fulfil their duties through any institution, activity, and consciousness. Also, they can get the benefits of membership in a political community. Similarly, Patrick Geddes says that civics is a science that deals with civic life and its various problems. And so, E.M. White says that civics is that effective branch of human knowledge. Which deals with the past, present, and future of citizens, or everything related to local, national, and human.
The scope of civic science is important from social, economic and political aspects. From a social aspect, it enriches the lives of individuals in families, tribes, groups, villages, cities, states etc. as well. From an economic aspect, if a country is poor, then citizens will not perform their duties at all. An attitude of lawlessness will prevail. From a political aspect, the type of Government and the study of democracy and the role of citizens in it is considered.
